Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, is the first pediatric hospital in the United States to use a form of telemedicine technology, in the form of a VGo wheeled robot.  The robot is controlled remotely via a healthcare professional  so that he or she may interact with patients in their hospital rooms “VGo, is a secure wireless connected device that enables a distant medical professional to be “present” through two- way video, audio and motor driven action.”

“It is highly unlikely that robotic telemedicine platforms will find enough specialized applications to become a market leader, however the development is certainly an interesting one” says George Tierney, Chief Operating Officer at SnapMD.  “Our platform makes ease of use a priority for health care professionals and physicians groups.  However, if the market tells us to put our solution on wheels, we’ll do it!”
