Telehealth Coming To Alaska

A new bill being pushed in Alaska will allow Alaskan physicians to prescribe medication over the phone and/or videoconference. This can be allowed for a completely new patient who has never even seen the doctor face-to-face. “The measure’s aim is to enable patients “to obtain over-the-phone or online consultations where physicians can diagnose and, if necessary, provide a prescription,” according to a release by its sponsor, State Rep. Lynn Gattis, a first-term Republican from Wasilla.”
