Use of Telemedicine Discussed at House of Representatives Meeting

At June 17th’s United States House of Representatives meeting, Rep. Glenn Thompson (Pennsylvania), discussed the importance of Telemedicine to the Department of Defense. “Mr. Speaker, dating back to 2011, I introduced the Service member Telemedicine and E-Health Portability, or STEP, Act. This legislation allows health care professionals credentialed by the Department of Defense to work across State lines without multiple licenses, regardless of where the service member is located.

This is a great recognition for the Telemedicine and Telehealth industry and will hopefully be a large part of the 2015 fiscal year.
