2014 Is The Year of Telehealth
With all the new technology and break-ways in medicine research, 2014 is the year of Telehealth and Telemedicine. It’s not only time effective, but cost effective as well. One study in the UK showed, “A key component of Telehealth’s success is that it is tailored to each patient.” This is exactly why Telehealth and Telemedicine are the new form of medical technology that everyone needs to be adapting to. Each individual patient can have personalized services right at the comfort of their own home. Just look at this example of a hospital in Great Britain and their use of Telemedicine: “For example, those being monitored for a UTI are asked about their state of health before they got an infection, and these questions are programmed into their home unit to answer every day. Patients answer the questions and, if the system indicates they are at risk, they test their urine at home. In some cases, patients will already have antibiotics at home that they can start taking if the test is positive.”
Patients can receive treatment and care from home without traveling to a physician or pharmacy to receive their antibiotics. It’s Telemedicine that brings the high ratings and satisfaction of doctors.
